  • Financial Information: Cooperative account numbers, transaction history, account balances, loan details, and beneficiary information for fund transfers.
  • Device Information: Hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (IMEI/MAC address), mobile network information, and IP address to ensure secure logins and prevent fraud.
  • Camera and Photo Library Access: We may request access to your device’s camera and photo gallery strictly for scanning QR codes for payments or uploading required Know Your Customer (KYC) documents.
  • Location Data: We may collect background or foreground location data to prevent fraudulent transactions and help you locate nearby branches or service points.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • To create, manage, and authenticate your mobile banking account.
  • To process financial transactions, including fund transfers, digital wallet loading (e.g., Khalti, eSewa), utility payments, and merchant payments.
  • To send administrative information, such as SMS alerts, OTPs (One Time Passwords), transaction receipts, and security notices.
  • To comply with legal and regulatory obligations as mandated by the Department of Cooperatives and the prevailing laws of Nepal.
  • To detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud, unauthorized access, or other security incidents.

4. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers & Payment Gateways: With third-party infrastructure providers, clearing networks, and digital payment partners (e.g., digital wallets, utility providers) strictly to facilitate the transactions you initiate.
  • Legal & Regulatory Authorities: When required by law, subpoena, or regulatory directive to comply with governmental requests, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, or to protect our legal rights.

We implement robust administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal and financial information. This includes data encryption in transit (HTTPS/SSL) and at rest, secure servers, and multi-factor authentication (such as OTPs and biometric logins). However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

6. Data Retention and User Deletion Rights

We retain your personal and transaction data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services and fulfill our legal/regulatory record-keeping obligations in Nepal.
Account and Data Deletion:
Users have the right to request the deletion of their mobile banking profile and associated data. To request data deletion:

  1. Navigate to the Settings/Profile section within the App and select “Request Account Deletion” (if applicable).
  2. Alternatively, contact our support team at [Insert Support Email] with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
    Please note that we may be legally required to retain certain financial transaction records even if your mobile banking app profile is deleted.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our website and updating the “Effective Date.”
